I’m sorry that I haven’t posted on here in a while, but I’ve been hard at work getting the new boat ready for the season. I’m very happy to announce that the Conch 27 is officially ready! As of January 1st all of our fishing charters will now be conducted on the new boat!
It’s been a long project this fall, but the new boat is finished and I’m very proud of the work we’ve done. We’re starting the year with brand new 200hp Suzuki outboards and I got a lot of other work done as well including new gas tanks, new electronics, all new controls, and a fresh paint job to start out fresh with the new boat. I’ve got to thank everyone that helped me out this fall on my project whether it be coming over to help lift the old tanks out of the boat, helping me tow the boat up the road for the new engines, or help with the hours of sanding and painting especially from my 14 year old son Ian!
As for the fishing we had a great fall season and so far the winter season has been excellent as well. The sailfish bite has been very good with a mix of tuna, kingfish, and wahoo while kite fishing live baits for the sails. Bottom fishing has been excellent with a variety of snapper, grouper and jacks on the wrecks, and the reef fishing has been spectacular with some really nice mutton snapper as well as yellowtail and mangrove snapper on the patch reefs. We also put together a spectacular trip to the Bahamas a few weeks ago. I was able to arrange a 3 day trip to Cat Cay and Cay Sal Bank in the Bahamas and it was a huge success. We had spectacular fishing for big wahoo, dolphin, tuna, snapper, and grouper. It was non stop action and an awesome experience. We did this trip on a 43′ Whittaker as its more suited to overnight fishing and multiple day trips than either the old Capt. Easy or the new one. Moving forward I would like to offer more of these trips so if anyone is interested in more information please don’t hesitate to contact me.
I’m looking forward to taking all of my old customers (as well as new ones) out for a slightly different experience aboard the new Capt. Easy this season and I hope to see all of you over the coming months. Thanks
