7-2-18 Islamorada Florida Keys summertime fishing report!

We’ve had some awesome fishing on the waters offshore of Islamorada and the Florida Keys! Aboard the Captain Easy offshore and reef fishing have both been excellent.┬áThe main target species on most trips has been Mahi Mahi or dolphin, and dolphin fishing has been fantastic! Most of our fishing charters have seen huge schools of nice heavy lifter and gaffer size mahi as well as the occasional “slammer dolphin” mixed in to the catch. Reef and bottom fishing have also been good with plenty of yellowtail snapper on the reef and some big mutton snapper, grouper, and African pompano bottom fishing on wrecks. Swordfishing has also been great offshore with some nice swords caught on a little over 65 percent of our recent trips. Aboard the Easy Does It we have been hammering the tarpon this season! This has been my most successful tarpon season ever and I’m really enjoying running these trips on the new boat! Moving forward we’ll be fishing this week and then shutting down for a few weeks for maintenance and a little rest. August and September are by far my favorite time to fish in the Keys and we’ve still got plenty of availability right now. Offshore fishing for dolphin and tuna, Reef fishing for snapper, and tarpon fishing are all great through the summer and into early fall and it’s a great time to come to the keys and get in on the action!

  1. Hello Captain Bruce,

We are the original owners of a 2001 Conch 27′ CC.

Do you know anyone that might want to buy her? We are on Summerland Key.

The boat has a new interior, furuno electronics, 821 hours on twin OptiMax 225’s and in very good condition.

    Thank You

    1. Hi Richard
I don’t know anyone off the top of my head, but if I hear of anyone looking I’ll let them know about you. What are you asking for it?
