Islamorada Fishing Report for April 2019

Both offshore fishing and Inshore fishing have been excellent for us aboard the Easy Does It and the Capt. Easy The last few months! On the offshore trips we’ve been experiencing an awesome late season sailfish bite and actually went 7 for 7 on sailfish on a 3/4 day fishing trip earlier this week. I then took the same guys out that evening aboard the Easy Does It and we wound up catching 4 tarpon on the same day. We’ve also had great fishing for tuna, wahoo, kingfish, and dolphin offshore and some great yellowtail snapper fishing on the reef. The big amberjacks have been biting on the deep wrecks and seamounts and there are plenty of sharks right on their tails for anyone that wants to tangle with one of those. The evening tarpon and shark trips aboard the Conch 27 have been red hot the last few weeks with plenty of shots at tarpon on almost all of the trips and plenty of sharks for the kids to play with as well.

Looking forward Grouper season will open in south atlantic waters on May 1st. We’re looking forward to harvesting some big black grouper after having to release them all winter and spring. By mid may we should be focusing most of our attention offshore in search of mahi mahi witch should be excellent from then through the summer. reef fishing and tarpon fishing should both stay very good through the summer as well.

As of August 1st I will be running most of my charters aboard the new boat. I should still be running the Capt. Easy at least into the fall season on a limited basis, but will be focusing most of my attention to the Conch. I hope to see you all aboard the new boat soon! Here are some recent pictures. Thanks

Capt. Bruce
