The Keys are reopening to Visitors on June 1st!

I am very happy to announce that Monroe County Florida will be ending the roadblock on the 18 mile stretch and reopening to visitors on June 1st. This is great news for all of us in the charter boat industry in the Florida Keys and I’m very excited to start fishing again! The last few months have been very tough with no business during what is normally our busiest time of year. Luckily the timing of the reopening will mean that we can partially salvage this season and also take advantage of the awesome fishing we have to offer this time of year.

June is one of our best months for fishing charters in Islamorda. The mahi mahi or dolphin fishing offshore is at it’s peak and inshore we have the best tarpon fishing of the year available as well. Deep drop and reef fishing for snapper and grouper are also very good this time of year and there are also usually plenty of black fin tuna offshore with wahoo and billfish possibilities as well.

I will be in town all summer as the family and I will have to skip our annual summer vacation in July this year. So I will be available anytime. The summertime and fall fishing is excellent in the keys and we will be available for fishing and sandbar charters anytime this summer and fall. We’ve still got plenty of availability, but since the county announced the opening we’ve been taking reservations quickly so you may want to contact me to start planning a trip as soon as possible.

Hopefully we will see you all soon. Here are a few pictures of some outstanding summertime fishing in the Florida Keys!
